This rare Bossa sofa (1968), born from the collaboration between Rodolfo Bonetto and Giotto Stoppino, embodies the experimental spirit of late 1960s design. Its form is defined by a low, sculptural silhouette, where a continuous, off-white fiberglass shell wraps around the base and sides in a smooth, flowing curve. The shell rises gently at the back to create an integrated backrest, giving the sofa a cocoon-like, grounded presence.
Nestled within this rigid outer frame are generously proportioned cushions upholstered in brown corduroy velvet. Together, its compact, low-slung geometry and enveloping shape perfectly captures the innovative and unconventional approach of late 1960s-1970s furniture design.
