Description
Gösta Jonsson, lounge chair, beech, sheepskin, Denmark, 1940s
A charming lounge chair by Gösta Jonsson that depart from strict geometric rigidity, instead embracing a soft, sculptural quality that feels both organic and deliberate. Their softness is emphasized by the dark toned sheepskin. The backrest with buttons curves outward in a gentle flare, giving the chair a kind of open, embracing posture. Its generously broad seat and subtle titled and curved backrest provide unmatched comfort. Tapered and made of wood, the legs are, by contrast, modest in scale.
